The goal of the project Cyber Safety and Security for the Elderly and Teens is to build capacities among the elderly and teens in Macedonia for safe and secure activities in the online / digital world, and to lower the negative effects such as fraud, bullying, privacy breach, identity theft to which these target groups are more susceptible. Donor of the project is the US Embassy in North Macedonia.
RE has envisioned the impact of the project to be sustainable as game for the teens will be available for use for next generation of students. For the elderly, the module will be available online and can be used by other interested persons.
Specific objectives, on which our team will work on are:
- 100 elderly (65year+) from retirement communities in Macedonia (at least 2 regions) will learn key elements of safety and security in the online world.
- 10 schools covering all 8 regions in Macedonia will get involved in the “cybersecurity for teens” program as support to their classes for “Informatics” (part of normal school curricula).
- over 300 teenagers will acquire skills for safe and secure cyber presence through the gamified program for “cybersecurity for teens”.
During the implementation of the activities we will have partners – retirement communities and high schools, to be involved in direct work with the target groups.
The objectives will be achieved within the project duration of 12 months., until 10 th of August 2021.
